What are Tabrets?

The ancient meaning of tabret is believed to be 'a small, one-sided drum' used in worship and praise. Tabrets were used in celebrations with dancing, singing and musical instrumentation. A modern Christian can only catch a glimpse of the extravagant praise and worship in the times of King David. The King himself danced before the Lord with all of his might (2 Sam. 6:14) leaping and whirling before the Ark of the Covenant (2 Sam. 6:16). As King David answered Michal's reproach (2 Sam. 6:22), "And I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight", let the church also be compelled to worship the coming King with the freedom of an 'all - out' worship. May our arms be lifted up in praise with a symbolic tool of adornment and beauty in our hand to present to our Father in worship.
